I headed downstairs for the family meeting our father had just called together. I dropped down at the end of the couch, next to my younger brother Woalfe, and sister C.J.
“So what do you think it’ about?” Woalfe asked
C.J. quickly piped up, “Do you think its about Harmony!”
“Don’t get your hopes up,” I warned her.
Harmony had been all C.J. talked about ever since our father announced we were being considered for inclusion. I, though, was not going to get my hopes up. I knew that it was nearly impossible to be accepted to the colony, and with our circumstances… my father nearly 70 years old, me a beginning game designer, my brother just a recent graduate…no, our inclusion was not likely.
Our father finally made his appearance. Her stood in front of us, still an imposing presence despite his age.
“I have something to announce,” he said.
“Is it about Harmony!” C.J. immediately asked, “Did we get in? Did we!”
Woalfe let out an exasperated groan, “Would you stop with the whole Harmony dream C.J.!”
Dad smiled at his younger son, “Now, son, dreams are not always so bad.”
“When they’re pointless they are,” Woalfe said.
“Perhaps it’s not so pointless son.” He handed Woalfe an official looking paper. Woalfe took it and read it. Then he reread it. C.J. reached for it, but Woalfe avoided her grasp and handed it over to me instead. The privilege of being the oldest. C.J. pouted as I read it.
“Dear Professor Jalen.
We have reviewed your application for inclusion into the Harmony Colony, and based on your qualifications your request has been approved. You will be the assistant to our education advisor. Official papers are included for yourself, your sons Xaiden and Wolf and daughter C.J. Please do not lose these papers, as admittance to Harmony will not be possible without them.
Signed,
Christopher Right, director of the Harmony Colony Project
Kevin Jordan, Governor of Harmony.
“Well?” C.J asked, “What is it?”
I smiled over at her, “Sis, dreams do come true.”

Yay! Jalen are in! Thank you! I look forward to many more generations of Jalen.
I am very happy for this family. It is always great when dreams come true.
